A Truly Personal Experience
At the heart of Secret Italia Tours is a simple belief: small group travel is essential to travel that truly works. Over many years of designing and leading tours throughout Italy, Greece, Sicily, Malta, Spain, Portugal, France, and beyond, we have learned that the most memorable journeys are not defined by how much you see, but by how well each day unfolds. Group size shapes everything. It determines how easily a day moves, how deeply a place can be experienced, and how much freedom travelers retain within a shared journey. That belief guides every tour we design.
The trip was AMAZING. Cannot begin to express my complete and utter joy in having traveled with Secret Italia. Our guide, Vittoria, was a true gem. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was “perfect”. Our drivers, Giuseppe and Luciano, were extremely competent, kind and attentive. All three of them wanted to share their love of their home with us and help us to understand and enjoy the “Secret Italy”.
We offer real small group tours, with a maximum of 12 to 15 guests, not as a marketing choice, but as a practical one. Smaller groups allow travel to feel natural rather than managed. Days begin and end without unnecessary waiting. Visits flow smoothly. Adjustments can be made without disruption. Most importantly, small group size allows space. Space to listen, to absorb, to ask questions, and to move through places at a human pace. This is the foundation that makes everything else possible.
Small groups give us the freedom to design itineraries that are carefully paced. Each tour is built to include the experiences travelers truly care about, the cultural and historical highlights, meaningful local encounters, regional food and wine, without compressing everything into rigid schedules. We believe travelers should never feel rushed through important moments, nor feel uncertain about whether they are missing something essential. For that reason, highlights are thoughtfully secured and planned, while personal time is intentionally built into the structure of each tour. This balance allows guests to enjoy both guidance and independence. You can rely on the itinerary to deliver depth and context, while still having time to explore on your own, linger where you feel drawn, or simply rest and observe.
Their insight brings context and continuity to each journey, while our small group approach allows genuine interaction rather than scripted performance. The result is an experience that feels cohesive, unforced, and reliable. Not because it is rigid, but because it is well designed.
