DAY 1: WELCOME TO TURKEY & ISTANBUL

Arrive at Istanbul Airport and travel near the city center for a four nights stay at at the first-class ”PERA PALACE HOTEL” or similar, a charming boutique hotel which enjoys an excellent location near the city’s architecturally treasures.This evening we gather for our first dinner in an elegant restaurant boasting amazing views over the Bosphorus.Overnight in ISTANBUL

DAY 2: ROYAL & CULTURAL SPLENDORS OF ISTANBUL

Today’s tour takes you to visit UNESCO HAGIA SOPHIA,mostly known as one of the most valuable and fascinating structures in the world of art and architecture. The walls of this beautiful piece of architecture are decorated with gorgeous mosaics.Continue to the BLUE MOSQUE, one of the most majestic Ottoman mosques in all of Turkey. The blue Iznik Tiles covering the walls have given the mosque its popular name, Blue Mosque. Make sure you will spend some time in silence inside the magnificent mosque to admire its prayerful atmosphere and superb blue tiles (It is advised to dress respectfully when visiting, although scarfs and outer garments are given at the door if necessary).Another highlight of ISTANBUL not to be missed today is the HIPPODROME SQUARE, built by Septimius Severus to entertain the public at the beginning of A.D 2th century.Lunch is included today in a popular Turkish restaurant serving delicious local and international cuisine.Afterwards,drive to the magnificent TOPKAPI PALACE MUSEUM,a grandiose complex of buildings that formed the residence of the Sultans and the women of the Harem for 400 years. There are four main courtyards which contain extensive gardens, pavilions, fountains, royal gates, divans, kitchens, library, mosques and the Harem. Visit the Treasury which houses a glittering collection of jewels, arms and armor, ceramics, imperial costumes and miniatures. It is in the Treasury you will find the famous Spoonmakers Diamond and Topkapi Dagger.We end the tour with a visit to the largest surviving BASILICA CISTERN in Istanbul which was constructed using 336 columns, many of which were salvaged from ruined temples and feature fine carved capitals. Its symmetry and sheer grandeur of conception are quite breathtaking. One of the two Medusa sculpted columns from the Roman period was placed underneath one of them and the other in the opposite direction.Rest of the day is on your own. Overnight in ISTANBUL

DAY 3: GRAND BAZAAR,SULEYMANIYE MOSQUE,CHORA MUSEUM & SPICE BAZAAR

You will meet your professional guide in the hotel lobby for your private full-day of sightseeing starting from one of the oldest and largest covered markets in the world, the GRAND BAZAAR dating from the 15th century. The world famous handmade carpets and kilims of Turkey, some of the most beautiful examples of Turkish silver art, souvenirs and decorations made of copper and bronze and high quality ceramics, onyx, and leathergoods are for sale.Continue to the largest mosque in Istanbul,the stunning SULEYMANIYE MOSQUE, or better known as the mosque of Suleyman the Magnificent,built in the 16th century by the great Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan for Sultan Suleyman the Magnificient, also known as the Legislator.After an included lunch in a local restaurant, continue to the historical EGYPTIAN/SPICE BAZAAR, a colorful and mystical covered spice market lined with spice stalls in Eminonu coast,near the Yeni Mosque in the Historical Peninsula of Istanbul.Remaining of the day is at leisure.Overnight in ISTANBUL
