Day 1: WELCOME TO GALICIA & SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA

Arrive at SANTIAGO,capital of Spain’s northwest Galicia region, believed to be the final resting place of the apostle St James for a three nights stay at the beautiful 15th century “PARADOR DE SANTIAGO” or similar,close to the city’s architecturally treasures.At 6.30pm meet your tour manager for a welcome drink followed by dinner in a typical Galician restaurant.Overnight in SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA

Day 2: UNESCO SANTIAGO,FOOD MARKET WITH TAPAS                                                     

Start your discovery of Galicia  with a morning guided tour of SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA ranks among Spain’s most beautiful and visited cities. Our local expert will shed light on the stunning CATHEDRAL housing the silver crypt believed to hold the remains of St. James the Apostle, PLAZA DE OBRADOIRO, the monumental square surrounded by Santiago’s most important monuments and the maze-like narrow streets of the casco antiguo (old district) with its historic buildings.We complete the tour with a visit to the celebrated MERCADO DE ABASTOS (Abastos Market) for a Tapas lunch experience.The afternoon is free for independent exploration.Overnight stay in SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA

Day 3: ALBARINO WINE COUNTRY & SEAFOOD AT THE HISTORIC PORT VILLAGE OF CAMBADOS

Day 4:  PONFERRADA CASTLE, MEDIEVAL LEON & CASA BOTINES       

This morning depart for OVIEDO, once the capital of the kingdom of Asturias. On the way,you’ll discover the magnificent CASTLE OF PONFERRADA (Castillo Templario), built by the Knights Templar in the 13th century.The walls of the fortress-monastery rise high over the Rio Sil, and the square,crenulated towers ooze romance and history.Continue to the regal city of LEON, combining stunning historical architecture with an irresistible energy. Its standout attraction is the 12th century Romanesque/Gothic CATEDRAL,one of the most beautiful in all of Spain. By day, you’ll encounter a city with its roots firmly planted in the soil of northen Castile, with its grand monuments,loyal Catholic heritage and role as an important staging post along the Camino de Santiago.We end the day with a visit to CASA BOTINES,a castle-like,neo-Gothic structure by architect Antoni Gaudi. Spend the next two nights at the central “HOTEL DE LA RECONQUISTA” or similar. Dinner is included this evening in a local restaurant.Overnight stay in OVIEDO

Day 7: BILBAO & THE GUGGENHEIM

Today you’ll set out on foot for a discovery walking tour, experiencing the popular local custom of “txikiteo” and “pintxos”(tapas). Wander through the historic Old Quarter of BILBAO, popularly known as the “Seven Streets”, where more than 500 years of history have led to its current-day urban vitality. Strolling around the cobbled streets, charming corners and squares, you’ll discover emblematic buildings such as Saint James’s Gothic Cathedral, the Plaza Nueva, the San Anton Church and the Mercado de la Ribera, which is the largest covered market in Europe. It’s within the Old Quarter where you’ll find the best places to try out local tapas.Your guide will take you on a gastronomic adventure, enjoying this Basque tradition – visiting three different restaurants and tasting the best pintxos on the narrow authentic streets in Bilbao’s Old Quarter together with a glass of local wine txakolí. You’ll be treated to a drink and pintxos at each of the three restaurants.In the early afternoon,meet up with a private guide for an intriguing visit of the GUGGENHEIM MUSEUM (1.5 hour duration),the museum’s collections, housed in the stunning, world-renowned building designed by Frank Gehry.Rest of the day is at leisure.There are numerous things to see and do while in Bilbao. Day 8: LA RIOJA WINE REGION & PROUD PAMPLONA

Day 9: SAVORING SAN SEBASTIAN,PEARL OF THE CANTABRIAN COAST

We’ll begin our day with a walking tour of elegant San Sebastián.Our guide will give us a view of Spanish Basque life and culture as we tour the lively Old Town, step inside the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd, and walk the promenade down to the town’s beautiful beach. You’ll be free this afternoon and evening to spend more time in the Old Town, at the beach, ride the funicular up to Monte Igueldo’s viewpoint, or hike around Monte Urgull.In the evening celebrate your Spanish adventure with an “Adios dinner” sharing travel memories and toasting new friends.Overnight stay in SAN SEBASTIAN
